3-phase generator prototype (2021)
Power generation project: to build a DIY motor. I chose to design and build a 3-phase generator, using steel-core inductors, neodymium magnets and a 3D printed stator.
Motorized equatorial mount design (2020)
Mechanical engineering design project: to design a simple machine using a motor, a gear box and machine elements. I opted for a equatorial mount, powerd by a NEMA17 stepper motor.
AmboVent UVG+Humana ventilator case and harness design (2020)
Extracurricular project during COVID19 pandemic. I helped to design an acrylic case and to model into CAD the harness of the University's ventilator.
UNOOSA & Airbus Bartolomeo programme application (2020)
Member of the University's team that competed in the "Access to space for all: UNOOSA & Airbus to Free Payload flight to ISS/Bartolomeo" challenge. Application finalists. Performed research and design an aluminum base to hold tensile test specimens, to study radiation/atomic oxygen effects on polymers.
Fridge prototype (2018)
Thermodynamics project: to build a functional fridge, with temperature and humidity control. Used a 1/4 HP compressor, EPS foam, an Arduino, an automated water bottle, and humidity/temperature sensors to keep ideal conditions for avocado storage.
Robotic arm control (2017)
Digital manufacturing project: to prototype (based on an existing 3D model) and control a robotic arm using FDM 3D printing and an Arduino. Programmed a rudimentary communication protocol, to control 2 arms using a server-client setup of Arduino boards. Programm was able to read 3D coordinates inputs to move the arm to the designated point in space.
